A short history of Stamfords and what we do.
Stamford Contracts, is a company that prides itself on exemplary high standards of workmanship coupled with reliability and efficiency.
Although registered in 1951, Stamford Asphalte Company Limited, roofing specialists and building contractors, can trace its roots back to the mid-1920’s to Raffeale Carmine Mari, a respected asphalter, renowned for the quality of his workmanship.
His four sons followed him into the roofing industry and it is his grandson, John Mari who is the current Managing Director. John's father Andrew, Raffeale’s son, who built up the business with his brother Carmine, now takes a Chairman’s role and is enjoying a well-earned retirement.
Certified under the quality assurance scheme BS EN ISO 9002 Stamford Contracts have in place all the necessary control devices to ensure safety, efficiency and the highest standards of workmanship.
John Mari’s wealth of experience and modern outlook has evolved the company. Its divisions now encompass: Asphalt and Felt; Slating Tiling and Metalworks; Tarmacadam; and Building Works’ an associated building contracts division with contracts ranging up to £500,000.
